Job Summary

3 Rivers Communications is seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize telecommunications systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable voice, data, and broadband communication services while supporting network performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment and network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize service interruptions.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on telecommunications systems.
  • Support the deployment of fiber optic, wireless, and broadband communication technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement network expansion projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and service records.
  • Provide technical support to field technicians and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze network performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging telecommunications technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in telecommunications, networking, or a similar technical role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications protocols, IP networking, fiber optics, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with wireless communication systems and broadband technologies.
  • Knowledge of network security principles.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field locations when required.
