2GO Advisory Group is seeking a highly capable Senior Accountant to support a dynamic CPA Firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, experience from either a CPA firm or a salaried Robert Half engagement role, and enough tax exposure to be helpful without making tax the primary focus.
Role Overview
This role is best suited for a hands-on accountant who can operate across general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting support. The right person will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with finance leadership, and contributing to both routine accounting operations and process improvement. Some tax experience is preferred to support coordination on tax-related items, filings, and compliance questions, but the core of the role remains general accounting and reporting.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as needed.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and support tax deliverables when needed.
• Identify and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation.
• Partner with leadership on ad hoc reporting and special projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Background in a CPA firm, or experience as a salaried Robert Half professional, or equivalent corporate accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
• Some tax experience or exposure preferred, but not the primary requirement.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
• Clear communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in professional services, multi-client environments, or client-service accounting.
• Exposure to corporate tax, sales tax, or income tax support.
• Prior work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently while staying responsive to team needs.

Compensation

• $90,000 to $120,000
