Reach job seekers as the world reopens
Summer is here, and as states begin to reopen, many businesses are seeing hiring freezes start to thaw. However, with the number of reported coronavirus cases rising, the road to recovery remains rocky at best.
So if you’re recruiting right now, you may feel like you are venturing into uncharted territory without a map or a compass.
To help you get your bearings, we conducted a survey of visitors to ZipRecruiter.com to see how job seekers are approaching their job search. Here are some key findings:
- 68% of respondents are very likely to apply to a job right now, even though the number of reported cases in the US is rising
- 90% of those who have applied for unemployment are likely to apply for a job right now. Only 1% of respondents answered that unemployment benefits outweigh the risk/stress of finding a job
- The top reason a job seeker would not apply to a job is due to uncertainty around whether the company is actually hiring
- Job seekers overwhelmingly prefer phone or video interview (64%) to an in-person interview (29%)
