In the news
For the past three decades, healthcare employment has grown 30% faster than average, due to the rising demand for healthcare services from a growing and aging population with rising rates of chronic conditions. Healthcare organizations have frequently cited hiring as their biggest challenge amid low unemployment.
Now, with the coronavirus pandemic causing massive numbers of layoffs, especially in industries such as leisure and hospitality and retail, healthcare employers have an opportunity to broaden their talent pools. And workers will have the opportunity to make a career switch into an industry projected to add more jobs than any other over the next decade.
