International Drilling Equipment (IDE) is an OEM dealer of Foundation Drilling Equipment and accessories, looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. IDE’s territory includes locations within the United States and Canada.


Job Description:

Be responsible for the safe and effective repair of machine components in the shop and field, at high levels of quality. This individual must work independently of direct supervision in a field environment. The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, and able to adapt to all the challenges around them - customers, suppliers, colleagues, manufacturers, weather, and other conditions.


Role and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Must be fully committed to working safely as well as fully committed to preventing damage to the environment.
  • Must possess and maintain your own set of tools.
  • Responsible for diagnostics, preventative maintenance, modifications, and repair on all makes of drilling equipment and other equipment in the shop and in field environments.
  • Able to read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, and schematics.
  • Plan methods and sequence of performing activities assigned.
  • Ensure all activities are completed as assigned.
  • Prepare proper daily records and documentation of actions taken.
  • Ensure the cosmetic appearance of equipment upon completion as required.
  • Ensure all parts and materials not used are returned as per guidelines.
  • Ensure all records kept are legible and in compliance with established methods.
  • Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Communicate with others professionally.
  • Enforces all policies and procedures as specified in the company manuals.
  • Maintains high employee morale.
  • Maintains excellent customer and employee relations.
  • Possess and maintain a clean driver's license and has or can acquire a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be available at a moment’s notice to respond to IDE and customer needs.
  • This position requires up to 80% travel annually.

  • Be responsible for conducting tasks in full compliance with International Drilling Equipment safety standards.
  • Be accountable to your supervisor, your coworkers, and our customers.
  • Ensure that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out for all work activities.
  • Promote safety in the shop and at field locations.
  • Ensure the work site is safe and that all tools are used in a satisfactory condition.
  • Attend and participate in pre-job safety planning and Toolbox Talks.

Requirements:

Education/Training/Experience:


  • A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred.
  • Preferred fluent in Spanish but not required, as the role involves frequent communication with Spanish-speaking clients. Pay will be adjusted based on language skills and experience.
