Job description

Ever-Green Energy is looking for a team member responsible for the operation of biomass processing equipment such as Loaders and Grinders helping to ensure Environmental Wood Supply (EWS) can supply biomass fuel to St. Paul Cogeneration Working with assigned crew and the Biomass Fuel Site Supervisor, assists in the receiving, storage, processing, and loading of biomass fuel product. Assists in minor maintenance of machinery and supports activities to maintain compliance with applicable operating and environmental permits.

It is the responsibility of each Ever-Green Energy employee that all tasks be conducted in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, company policies, programmatic standards, and special safety concerns identified by Ever-Green Energy for use in a particular area or with a customer. Minimum requirements to be successful in this role:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • One or more years of experience operating a wheel loader.
  • Experience with similar heavy machinery may substitute for wheel loader experience.
  • Ability to operate machinery skillfully and in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Practical decision-making ability and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, be able to adapt to changing circumstances have a sound work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record is required.

Preferred requirements:

  • Formal training in or equivalent job experience in machine and industrial/equipment operations is desired.
  • Working knowledge of wood grinders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for daily operation of wheel loader and wood grinder in support of receiving, storage, processing, and loading of biomass material.
  1. Assist in equipment monitoring, initial troubleshooting activities, and corrective maintenance as assigned. Responsible for daily preventative maintenance and cleaning of assigned equipment, and completion of daily equipment log.
  1. Assists in maintaining and repairing site conditions such as grading, rut repair, daily watering to control dust, and other activities to support operations and compliance with environmental permits.
  1. May be assigned to assist in routine cleaning, inventory, and general organization activities of the facility.
  1. Assists in oversight of site operations to ensure safety policies are followed by vendors and that no unacceptable materials are received.
  1. Assists customers and vendors in unloading of materials in designated areas.
  1. Be able to communicate with customers and other public parties in a respectable, effective, and positive manner, while upholding all site standards.
  1. When assigned, responsible for the opening and closing of the facility, and daily operations.
  1. Has the ability to work both independently and as a team.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned/required.

The employee is occasionally required to climbing ladders/ropes/scaffolding; crawling; crouching; fine manipulation by picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in gross manipulation; keyboarding; kneeling; lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.; near vision acuity with clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less; pushing; pulling; reaching at/below shoulder level by extending hand and arms from 0 up to 150 degrees in a vertical arc; reaching overhead by extending hands and arms in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc; standing/walking; and stooping.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations.

The hourly range for this position is: $27.79 to $31.28.

This range reflects the base salary for this position.
