Approximately 1800 employees at 12 locations in six countries (Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, USA, Finland and Portugal) develop and manufacture products for satellites and launch vehicles with the goal of advancing humankind and enabling the exploration of the world and beyond. This position is responsible for the technical Project Management of Beyond Gravity Large Scale Composite structures development and recurring deliveries. The Technical Project Manager serves as the program's primary technical integrator - gathering, interpreting, and synthesizing engineering information from across disciplines and translating it into clear, actionable communication for manufacturing, quality, supply chain, leadership, and the customer.
Our Mission
• Own the cost, schedule, and technical performance of a portion of a $300M space-hardware production program, working in close partnership with engineering and the project functional team
• Serve as the program's technical focal point - gather engineering data (drawings, analyses, test results, non-conformances, and design changes) from across disciplines and synthesize it into a coherent, current program picture
• Translate complex engineering and manufacturing information into clear, audience-appropriate communication for executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and the customer
• Drive resolution of technical issues by coordinating engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, tracking actions to closure
• Plan, lead, and document technical reviews (design, readiness, and change reviews) and ensure requirements flow-down and traceability across the program
• Manage engineering change (ECR/ECO) and configuration control, assessing cost, schedule, and technical impact
• Steer program technical risk management - identification, mitigation planning, and reporting
• Interpret and communicate customer technical requirements and specifications, ensuring internal alignment and compliance
• Support root-cause and corrective-action efforts and continuous improvement grounded in engineering data
• Accountable for cost, schedule, and quality of the assigned scope, with regular reporting to the customer and internal management at the executive levels
• Contribute to technical scoping and negotiations regarding new statements of work
• Maintain and cultivate close working relationships with engineering and functional leadership across Beyond Gravity, and long-term technical trust with the customer
Your Story
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Materials, or similar)
• 3+ years' experience in engineering project/program management, or in engineering with project leadership responsibility
• 3+ years' experience in the aerospace/space industry or a comparable high-reliability hardware environment, preferred
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, analyses, and test data - and to translate technical content into plain language for non-technical audiences
• Working knowledge of composite structures and/or associated manufacturing processes strongly preferred
• Familiarity with configuration/engineering change management and requirements management
• Experience managing a budget and/or profit/loss responsibility; PMP certification is a bonus
• Strong technical communication skills - written, verbal, and visual
• Self-starter with a strong bias for action
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
