Duties
Help
The Visitor Services Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily operations in the museum's public spaces, including volunteer recruitment, training, evaluation, and management; disseminating information to staff and visitors; supporting events and programming teams to create a positive onsite visitor experience; and performing related financial and administrative duties.
In this position, you will:

• Plan, coordinate, and implement all elements of visitor services, consisting of operations policies, procedures and protocols, accessibility, audience evaluations, and other activities to provide services and assistance to the visiting public.
• Manage front and back-end requirements supporting internships and/or fellowships at the museum.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skill and effectiveness of staff and volunteers who interact with museum visitors.

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as planning, coordinating, and implementing audience-centered visitor services and engagement strategies for public programs within a museum, cultural institution, or similar organization; managing academic appointment programs; and leading community engagement activities and volunteer docent programs in a public-facing organization.
Your resume must be no more than two (2) pages and should clearly demonstrate how your experience aligns with the responsibilities and specialized experience required for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
