Assistant General Manager
Location: Washington, DC
Salary: $75,000-$85,000 + Exceptional Benefits

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of daily restaurant operations.
  • Lead, coach, and support both Front of House and Back of House teams.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and ensure the highest standards of hospitality.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and urgency.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members and future leaders.
  • Create schedules and oversee daily shift execution.
  • Monitor food, beverage, and service quality to maintain brand standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
  • Assist with inventory management, vendor relationships, and operational improvements.
  • Help drive sales, manage labor, and achieve financial goals through strong operational execution.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience in an upscale, polished casual, or fine dining restaurant preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding guest service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid food and beverage knowledge.
  • Experience with restaurant systems such as Toast, Paycom, HotSchedules, TripleSeat, RESY, or OpenTable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor, food cost, and P&L performance.
  • Hospitality, culinary, or business degree is a plus.
