The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious PersonalInsurance Account Technician to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Putnam, CT. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a department team to assist clients with inquiries, including policy questions, billing issues, coverage questions, cancellations, and other services as needed.

  • Utilize all forms of communication, i.e., phones, emails, etc., to communicate with clients, carriers, etc.

  • Manage customer inquiries and file documentation, including communications/conversations and emails. etc.

  • Maintain client files - review and update client information as needed.

  • Order policies and request endorsements from the company as required.

  • Verify client coverage and provide policyholders, banks, and/or lenders with proof of insurance paperwork.

  • Monitor and work within the department task list, as well as completing one's own daily task list.

  • Provides solutions and resolves issues for clients in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent

  • Excellent working knowledge of the computer and the following programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Internet Explorer

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and software

  • Ability to analyze work assignments and know when to ask for assistance in order to complete the assignments in a timely manner

  • Ability to respond promptly to departmental needs and solicit feedback to improve service

  • Perform all job requirements, consistently produce quality work, complete tasks accurately and on time, prioritize and plan work assignments, use time efficiently to meet productivity standards and commitments

  • Take responsibility for own actions and be responsive to coaching from account managers and department manager

  • Strive to continuously pursue training and development opportunities to build knowledge and skills
