How much do zephyr arm rtos jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 18, 2026, the average yearly pay for zephyr arm rtos in the United States is $140,327.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $119,500.00 and $158,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay $2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can pay $2000 a day often include specialized roles such as senior software engineers, data scientists, management consultants, and certain freelance or contract positions in technology, finance, or consulting. These roles typically require advanced skills, extensive experience, and sometimes certifications, and may involve project-based or consulting work with high hourly or daily rates.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Zephyr ARM RTOS Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Zephyr ARM RTOS Developer, you need a strong background in embedded systems programming, C/C++ proficiency, and familiarity with real-time operating system concepts, typically supported by a degree in computer engineering or related fields. Experience with Zephyr RTOS, ARM Cortex microcontrollers, version control systems like Git, and tools such as West and CMake is commonly required. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. These competencies ensure reliable, efficient, and maintainable embedded software development for critical applications.

How old is Zephyr RTOS?

Zephyr RTOS was first released in 2016, making it approximately 7 years old as of 2023. It is an open-source real-time operating system used in embedded systems and IoT devices, with ongoing updates and community support.

Why is Zephyr over FreeRTOS?

Zephyr RTOS is often chosen over FreeRTOS for its modular architecture, extensive hardware support, and built-in security features, making it suitable for complex embedded applications. Zephyr also offers a more comprehensive development environment and supports a wider range of architectures, which can benefit developers working on diverse projects. However, FreeRTOS remains popular for its simplicity and small footprint in resource-constrained environments.

What are some typical challenges faced when working as a Zephyr RTOS developer on ARM platforms?

As a Zephyr RTOS developer focusing on ARM platforms, you may encounter challenges such as managing hardware abstraction for various ARM microcontrollers, ensuring real-time performance under resource constraints, and troubleshooting complex device driver or peripheral integration issues. Coordinating with hardware teams and testing across multiple ARM architectures are also common, requiring strong debugging skills and familiarity with embedded toolchains. Staying current with Zephyr's frequent updates and community contributions can further add to the dynamic nature of the role.

What is Zephyr RTOS?

Zephyr RTOS is a small, scalable, real-time operating system designed for resource-constrained embedded devices. It supports multiple hardware architectures and provides a wide range of features, such as multi-threading, inter-process communication, and device driver support. Zephyr is open source and managed by the Linux Foundation, making it suitable for building secure and connected IoT applications.

Where is Zephyr RTOS used?

Zephyr RTOS is used in embedded systems across various industries such as IoT devices, wearables, industrial automation, and consumer electronics. It is favored for its real-time capabilities, modular architecture, and support for multiple hardware platforms, making it suitable for resource-constrained environments and safety-critical applications.

Job description

Job Title: Sr. Python Robotics Engineer
Location: Waltham, MA
Duration: FTE
No of positions: 6
Visa type: Only visa independent candidates.(No sponsorship)

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement real-time robotic control loops in Python with deterministic performance (<1ms jitter)
  • Extend and optimize CPython internals (GIL modeling, garbage collector zones, bytecode tracing) for robotics use cases.
  • Build high-performance Python bridges using Cython, PyO3, and native extensions to interface with embedded systems.
  • Develop and deploy control systems implementing PID, LQR, and MPC in production robotic applications.
  • Engineer sensor fusion pipelines integrating IMU, LiDAR, and computer vision streams.
  • Integrate Python with SPI, I2C, CAN buses and coordinate with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) for real-time operation.
  • Design safety-critical robotics software in compliance with ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 61508
  • Create failover logic, watchdogs, and fault injection frameworks to ensure resilience in deployed robots.
  • Lead the development of digital twins, motion planning, and middleware for dynamic robot fleets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional research teams in autonomy, perception, and embedded engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred).
  • 8-12 years total experience in software engineering, with at least 6+ years in robotics-focused Python development.
  • Proven track record in designing, deploying, and controlling real robots (drones, manipulators, autonomous vehicles).
  • Strong expertise in ROS2 (DDS tuning, custom nodes) and robotic simulation frameworks (Isaac, Mujoco, PyBullet)
  • Experience writing or modifying firmware for ARM/RISC-V and coordinating with Python runtime.
  • Strong background in safety-critical systems engineering and formal verification (TLA+, SMV).
  • Contributions to open-source robotics or Python runtime projects.
  • Experience building motion planning algorithms in pure Python.
  • Hands-on development of digital twins with near real-time sync (<5ms loop).
