Job description

Work Type: Part-time/Seasonal
Nature of Work: This position involves working with the Recreation Coordinator in the overall operation and maintenance of the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni) at the Motto McClean ice rink.
Education and Experience: (The knowledge, skills, and abilities above may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience.)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Skill in interpersonal communication and leadership.
* Skill in planning and problem-solving.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, as well as with members of the general public.
* Ability to learn and teach new skills.
* Ability to pay attention to detail.
Essential Functions: (Any one position may not perform all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all of the duties that may be performed in positions allocated to this classification.)
* Operates the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni).
* Flooding and Painting
* Performs general maintenance of icemaking machines.
* Follows all safety programs associated with the operation of icemaking and ice maintenance equipment.
* Performs daily maintenance of all mechanical equipment.
* Keeps maintenance logs on specified equipment.
* Assists with all groundskeeping duties, including trash removal, lawn maintenance, and snow removal.
* Coordinates with building maintenance staff on facility upkeep.
* Sharpens ice-skates.
* Handles sales at concessions and pro shop, including using a cash register.
* Provides customer service to members of the public.
* Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates within the scope of this classification.
Special Qualifications: Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the time of appointment.
Must be able to work varied times, including weekends and holidays.
Under the guidance of the Recreation Coordinator, applicant will be responsible for completing safety training on all equipment and machinery
