Bibb Distributing 2nd Shift Warehouse Picker
PURPOSE
Bibb Distributing is in the happy hour, long weekend and after 5 o'clock business. We deliver the best beer come hell or high water. Our partnerships with Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, Fat Tire and other breweries enable us to be the market share leader.
We are family built and have over 65 years in the industry. What we have learned is that in order to distribute quality products, you have to have quality employees. We are currently looking to grow our team by adding a highly motivated Warehouse Picker to our team that will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn all AB-InBev and Bibb Distributing's warehouse standard practices and quality control guidelines when loading and unloading products.
They must be able to read code dates and be able to rotate products into proper storage locations.
Achieve productivity standards to meet operational timelines and budgets.
Achieve critical operational timing to meet customer and internal needs.
Demonstrates ability to comprehend and perform at target level in basic warehouse tasks including but not limited to: receiving, storage, order fulfillment and cleanliness.
Exhibits competency of work practices to allow operational flexibility. This includes competency in basic shift-specific tasks as detailed by supervisor requirement.
Ensures all OSHA safety regulations, local regulations and company safety rules are observed. Operate equipment following safety guidelines in all areas.
Ensures quality through limiting internal damage of product, proper loading and unloading of product to prevent damage at warehouse, route, and customer.
Demonstrates competency in assigned operational functions of BDC warehouse operating system.
Ensures proper product rotation and segregation using FIFO methods by leveraging BDC applied system and manual monitoring.
Deliver inventory accuracy through proper BDC electronic and manual methods.
Assures a clean workspace in accordance with BDC standards.
Regularly inspect facility and equipment for operational readiness, escalates or resolves issues as identified.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum age is 19 years old. Some positions' age requirements may be different.
Meet and maintain physical requirements. Flexibility to perform various roles within a single shift.
Able to pass criminal background check, pre-employment physical with lifting requirements and drug screen.
This is a "hands on" job that can be physically demanding with bending, lifting of cases up to 25 lbs. and moving loaded hand carts up to 200 lbs. and bulk carts up to 1500 lbs.
Demonstrates competent skills in shift-specific operations and pallet-jack operation.
Basic PC skills to perform tasks in BDC operating systems and proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Completes company training programs. Understands company policies, procedures, and operations.
Education/Experience: Prefer minimum 1 year warehouse operations and high school diploma/GED.
Language Ability: Has ability to communicate with peers and leadership and articulate problems or questions to the appropriate personnel.
Math Ability: Must exhibit comprehension of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Has ability to read and follow directions from standard work instructions. Ability to conceptualize the placement of a certain number of items on rack, pallets, or carts. Basic decision making.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Work Environment: Warehouse environment.
Schedule dependent on assigned shift and business objectives.
Minimum 40 hours per week. Off on Weekends.
Bibb Distributing's recognized business operations are Monday - Friday. Current warehouse schedule is Monday - Thursday 10:00am - 8:30pm or until work is complete. Days worked and schedule is subject to change based on business demands.
Physical Demands: Deals with sudden temperature changes when entering and exiting warehouse refrigerated area.
Maintains an acute awareness of surroundings, moving forklifts and trucks.
Requires continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching, pushing/pulling, and lifting/carrying up to 160 lbs.
