Overview

One of our sports tech startup clients is looking for a Social Media Manager and Content Creator to join their new team for an exciting full-time or contract-to-hire position. This role will lead the brand's go-to-market strategy, build a digital/social community, and be the voice of the brand across social media and beyond.

Location

Fully remote, Boulder/Denver would be great, but not required

Compensation

Salary: $70-75K DOE + equity + benefits/perks

Pay rate: $33-36/hr DOE

Qualifications

  • At least 2–5 years of experience in digital marketing, social media, or community management
  • Proven ability to run paid advertising campaigns and track ROI
  • Strong content creator with skills in short-form video editing, copywriting, and design tools (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.)
  • Comfortable on camera and engaging authentically with a passionate sports community
  • Hands-on experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in analytics and growth KPIs

Nice to have

  • Experience in a startup/app environment
  • Passion for pickleball or community-driven sports

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, present, and execute marketing campaigns that drive user growth and app installs
  • Own paid advertising campaigns (FB/IG/TikTok/Google Ads) from planning to optimization
  • Lead influencer and brand partnerships from outreach through negotiation and activation
  • Translate the GTM vision into quarterly roadmaps with clear KPIs and growth objectives
  • Create and publish daily social content across TikTok, IG, YouTube, and email (copy, design, and short-form video editing)
  • Act as an on-camera presence for TikTok/Instagram Stories, Reels, and other content
  • Maintain a consistent content calendar and brand voice
  • Build creative assets and templates to streamline future offshore content production
  • Serve as the frontline community manager by engaging with DMs, comments, and user feedback
  • Launch and manage ambassador and affiliate programs with college players, influencers, and early adopters
  • Support on-site activations at tournaments/events, including live content capture and ambassador coordination
  • Foster authentic connections with players, clubs, and the broader pickleball community
  • Track and analyze growth metrics, app installs, CAC, and engagement rates
  • Deliver weekly performance reports and monthly dashboards with actionable insights
  • Manage and optimize CRM and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp) to support onboarding, retention, and referral campaigns
  • Run A/B tests on ads and creative to improve conversion and ROI
  • Leadership & Offshore Coordination: After launch, manage a small offshore team to assist growth; write briefs, assign tasks, and ensure offshore execution meets brand standards
