Job description

Summary

The Youth and Family Programming Manager position is responsible for the daily oversight of Banyan Bunch and Summer Camps and events developed for the enjoyment and engagement of our members and guests. This individual must be polished, professional, and pleasant with a keen ability to enthusiastically engage with members, guests and their children across multiple age groups and through a wide range of activities and department operations.  

As the Youth and Family Programming Manager, they will assist in the execution and development of program content, train staff to execute and properly facilitate events in the department operations.

The most suited applicant is already aware that this is a role with flexible hours to include nights and weekends throughout the year, with summer and holidays being the busiest times.


Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

•    Assisting the team in the operational areas of the department with the majority of the scheduled shifts taking place at Banyan Bunch or Camp locations.

•    Oversees the efficiency of the youth program team in their respective duties.  Checks for proficiency, punctuality and effectiveness.  Utilize UniFocus to schedule and track attendance.

•    Provides departmental and position familiarization for all new members of the youth program team

•    Socializes with members and guests at ideal times such as nights, weekends and holidays, to lead the youth program team by example.

•    With approval from the Director of Recreation, develops and implements activity programming sensitive to member and guest demographics.

•    Provides input and submit evaluations for youth program team members to the Director of Recreation.  The Director of Recreation is responsible for personally delivering the evaluations to the respective youth program team member.

•    With the assistance of the Director of Recreation, he/she is responsible for assisting in the preparation and reviewing of the format and description of the activity portion of all promotional materials, primarily email confirmations, push notifications, Compass, flyer, poster, menus, club happenings, member website and app. 

•    Youth and Family Programming Manager prepares and submits POs for youth program needs, including but not limited to event supplies and inventory, vendor invoices, office supplies, facility supplies etc..

•    Know, follow and enforce all company policies and standards. Perform daily stand up meetings with the youth program team and inform them of any changes, additions and updates.

•    Assistance with budget creation, maintenance and department programs

•    Performs related duties as required/assigned by the Director of Recreation .


Internal Relationships

Reports to the Director of Recretion as required.  Youth and Family Operations Manager works closely with the F&B, Culinary, Banquets, Marketing, Member Relations, Stewarding and Guest Experience Center as well as various members of the ownership team.


External Relationships

Has regular contact with vendors, hosts, music acts, hired entertainment.  Maintains appropriate relationships with our club members and resort guests.  


Qualifications

•    The ideal candidate will have occupied a similar or higher position for three years.

•    Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

•    Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

•    Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.

•    Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.

•    Ability to be flexible when taking on tasks, prioritizing as necessary, and successfully handling challenging situations

•    Must possess moderate computer skills.


Education/Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

•    A minimum of three years experience in a similar position.

•    At least one year experience of planning and executing events

•    At least one year experience in team management and leadership role



Physical Requirements

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. frequently. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
