Job description

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Member Services Representative to join our team!
The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
As a Member Services Representative, you will deliver excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. If hired for this position, you will respond to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby area.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain good public relations with members and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.
  • Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Greet and assist all members, potential members and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner.
  • Assisting with basic membership transactions.
  • Respond to members' needs. Contact appropriate personnel when necessary and notify supervisor of unusual situations. Handle complaints in a courteous manner.

  • You have at least two years of customer service, sales, or related experience (preferred).
  • You have excellent written and oral skills.
  • You are comfortable with computers and office equipment.
  • You are proactive and know how to get things done.
  • You have a positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
  • Able and willing to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day and other online and in-person training as required.

Wage: $17.51 to $18.01 per hour per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Location: Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Gig Harbor, WA
