Responsibilities

The Jorgensen Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and attentive part-time teen Instructor to support the Teen Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of the teen program.

  • Connect: Actively engage, mentor, and lead the teens program participants to help them build confidence in themselves through enriching activities.
  • Serve: Assist with the setup, delivery, participation, and cleanup of scheduled program activities.
  • Support: Assist with the transportation of program participants in YMCA approved vehicles to designated program locations, as directed.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Positions that require an employee to drive YMCA vehicles require a clean driving record.
  • One year of teaching or related experience in the program area preferred.
  • Certification by an approved organization in the program area being led, when required.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.
  • Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
  • An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse

Salary: Part-time $12.44-14.50 hourly

Hours Available: Monday- Friday 2:45pm-6:00pm
