The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is currently seeking an outstanding candidate to serve in our Childcare Division as a Mobile Program Director Level 1. This role supports the Childcare Afterschool, Day Camp Teams by learning how to implement and deliver high-quality programming for our partnered sites. The Mobile Program Director will train, shadow, and work alongside veteran Senior and Program Directors within an assigned territory, gaining experience in site operations and leadership. This position reports to the Senior Program Director, and territory assignments may change based on branch needs with Executive Director approval.
The Mobile Program Director will have designated office space at our White Rock Family YMCA and will provide critical operational support across multiple sites. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ensuring compliance with licensing standards, upholding YMCA policies and procedures, supporting parent and school communication, assisting with purchases, supply distribution, quality program management, networking opportunities that increase program visibility and community awareness, and day-to-day operational flow.
This role also plays an important part in bolstering staff recruitment efforts, helping ensure programs remain fully staffed with engaged, qualified team members. When vacancies occur, the Mobile Program Director may be asked to serve as acting Program Director to maintain continuity of operations, strengthen relationships with schools and families, and support staff until a permanent Director is hired, for which they may apply for that position. Additionally, the Mobile Program Director may step into staff-to-child ratio as needed to ensure daily staffing needs are met and programs continue to operate safely and effectively.
This position will participate in YMCA fundraising initiatives, including the Annual Campaign, in accordance with YMCA standards to help provide financial assistance and outreach opportunities for all.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30am-6:30pm
Some Saturdays are required throughout the year for events and trainings.
Mileage between branches and sites is compensated.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years of management experience in education or childcare (multi-unit management or experience leading a large afterschool site of 100+ preferred)
    • Supervisory experience required
    • Strong commitment to YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a part of a large and diverse team
    • Skills in planning, recruitment, customer service, and program development
    • Demonstrated ability to build, coach, and lead teams
    • Ability to build rapport within the local community, including school administrators
    • Preferred applicants will have a BS/BA degree and/or Director Certification through Child Care Licensing
