JOB FUNCTION

AMVAC, The Formulations Floor Lead position provides production support and leadership for production associates in all Formulations areas. AMVAC’s manufacturing plant is located in Axis, Alabama and operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads production when Management is not available.
  • Partners with Shift Leadership Team (Control Room Operator and Operator A) to optimize shift personnel to meet production quota.
  • Partners with Shift Leadership Team in being responsible for their shift employees.
  • Partners with Shift Leadership Team in notifying Management of any personnel performance or conduct issues.
  • Partners with Shift Leadership Team to timely communicate production issues, problems, and/or delays from personnel, equipment issues, and/or material issues to Management.
  • Ability to lead & direct all production line personnel.
  • Effectively communicates and assigns tasks in a professional manner.
  • Anticipates and determines causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate actions to meet production schedules.
  • Comply and ensure compliance with all company policies, practices and lawful directives.
  • Perform other assignments as necessary and directed by management


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, accountability, and a positive attitude.
  • Support company goals while advocating for management, employees, and safety.
  • Lead, mentor, and train team members in safety, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, environmental compliance, and teamwork.
  • Meet production goals and assist wherever needed on the production floor.
  • Operate and maintain certifications for forklifts, track mobile, and yard dog equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance, equipment inspections, and troubleshoot production/mechanical issues.
  • Coordinate production activities, material handling, and daily operational assignments.
  • Maintain inventories, trailer inspections, paperwork, housekeeping, and waste management.
  • Load and unload trailers in compliance with DOT, company, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor production resources, rail cars, clay bins, and employee break/lunch schedules.
  • Escort contractors and vendors on-site as required.
  • Identify and report operational issues while implementing corrective actions with leadership.
  • Maintain excellent attendance, communication, and dependability.
  • Successfully complete required physicals, drug testing, blood draw program, and respiratory protection requirements (including respirator eligibility when required).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
  • Technical degree preferred.
