What you will do:

The Yard Associate plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient yard and warehouse operations by assisting customers, handling materials, preparing orders, and maintaining an organized work environment. This position helps ensure building materials are accurately received, stored, staged, and loaded while providing excellent customer service and supporting overall operational success. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and enjoys working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Yard Associate Responsibilities
  • Pull, stage, organize, and prepare customer orders while verifying product quantities and accuracy.
  • Receive, store, load, and unload building materials for customer orders, deliveries, and transfers.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment; complete routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard, warehouse, and storage areas while ensuring materials are properly stored and protected.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements and promptly report hazards, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions.
  • Work closely with yard, warehouse, delivery, sales, and management teams to support daily operations and provide excellent customer service.
What you will bring:
  • Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills with a positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and commitment to safety.
  • Previous lumberyard, warehouse, building materials, construction, order pulling, or material-handling experience preferred.
  • Basic math and measurement skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift or material-handling equipment experience preferred, or willingness to obtain required certification.
  • Ability to work primarily in outdoor yard and warehouse environments in varying weather conditions and safely lift and move materials weighing 50-75 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the shift, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
