Job description

The Full Time - Yard Associate for Heritage Family of Companies is responsible for supporting daily yard and warehouse operations, including material receiving, stocking, and organization, while adhering to safety standards and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move, stock, and organize products in the yard and warehouse to keep inventory accurate and easy to find.

  • Load and unload materials from customer and company vehicles safely and efficiently.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment while following all safety rules.

  • Keep the yard and warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

  • Must follow all safety guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and using proper lifting techniques.

  • Check and verify orders, complete shipping and receiving paperwork, and work with team members to meet delivery deadlines.

  • Assist with other warehouse or yard tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability and to lift and handle freight/materials up to 75 pounds continuously throughout the workday.

  • Ability to move heavy products in busy warehouses and/or outdoor yards, using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks, and involves active physical work.

  • Able to pass screening - background and drug screen.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in an outdoor setting/warehouse environment in conditions like noise, hot or cold temperatures

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Ability to lift and handle freight/materials up to 75 pounds throughout the workday.

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English to perform the essential job functions. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish may be required based on locationspecific business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience or certification preferred (training and certification can be obtained after hire through company training).

  • Experience operating skid steer and/or front-end loader.

  • Prior experience in hands-on, outdoor/indoor yard/warehouse, operational work or similar environment.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $19.00 to $22.88 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs.
