Overview

Job Code: 9816338

Team Purpose:  To lead and support development of fresh tech for Yamaha.

SUMMARY:

  • Development and proposal of electrical systems, components, and software related to the vehicles developed within YMMC Product Development.
  • Development encompasses new design development, 3D/2D CAD creation/ submittal, validation support and countermeasure, cost reduction, ease of manufacturing and other tasks needed for the support of vehicle development.
  • Proposal of electrical systems, components, and software to improve vehicle usage and marketability.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create 3D and 2D CAD data related to electrical components/systems as dictated by project targets with minimal direction from project manager and PD management.
  • Manage development of electrical components/systems/software designed and developed by companies contracted by YMMC PD to adhere to project targets and Yamaha quality standards.
  • Create / manage BOM structures related to electrical components/systems as dictated by project specifications.
  • Propose electrical components/systems for the improvement of Yamaha vehicles developed at YMMC.
  • Order prototype samples related to electrical components/systems to match the project schedule and plan with minimal input from project manager and PD management.
  • Self-directed Problem solving of the proto design/samples if they didn't work as intended.
  • Communicate with cross-functional members to ensure the parts/systems meet their expectations.
  • Self-directed communication with vendors & suppliers for production/prototype part issues/concerns

  • Extensive skill to operate 3D solid CAD system.
  • Extensive skill to operate electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge related to electrical harness creation / modification
  • Extensive knowledge of PCB Design, Testing and Troubleshooting.
  • Extensive understanding related to the principles, structures, functions and features of electromagnetic waves, sensors, image processing and radio waves.
  • Extensive understanding of design control system and logic based on the principle.
  • Extensive knowledge how to verify test items of control system and logic based on the principle.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 yrs industry experience related to job responsibilities.
