Job description

Job Description: The Quality Technician is responsible for day-to-day monitoring, testing and documentation of Raw materials, un-finished goods and finished goods at various steps and all departments during production and packaging stages in accordance with Company QMS, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14644, Safe Quality Food (SQF) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and store inspection reports and Sample retentions for review.
  • Interpret work instructions, product drawings and product requirements.
  • Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
  • Maintain calibration of quality control equipment and perform inspections across all stages of production as per instructions.
  • Perform Airborne Particulate Testing to validate cleanroom air quality.
  • Perform testing on products using X-rite, Ruler, Micrometer, Burst Tester, Seal Strength Tester, Peel Strength Tester, Liquid Particulate Testing, TAPPI Chart and other Quality equipment as per work instruction and product specification.
  • Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
  • Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
  • Other duties as directed.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control.
  • Solid understanding of test equipment like micrometer, seal tester, Lighthouse 3016, LPS tester, X-rite.
  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
