Description
Position Overview
Wine Director. This position serves as the leader of knowledge and core initiatives related to H&P's vast wine portfolio.
Key Accountabilities:
Collaborating with senior leadership to set overall direction related to H&P's wine portfolio
Developing and implementing training programs with a focus on product knowledge and sales technique
Develop professional, productive partnership relationships with wineries and suppliers
Meeting with suppliers to collaborate on objectives, strategies, and review performance
Working side by side with managers and sales representatives to develop and enhance their ability to sell the H&P wine portfolio
Working in conjunction with Sales Manager and Division Managers to ensure that each salesperson meets or exceeds all distribution and sales goals
Identify new products to bring into H&P's wine portfolio
Active, knowledgeable participation in departmental and inter-departmental meetings
Work with purchasing and analyze reports in order to maintain proper inventory levels
Complete other special projects as needs arise and as requested
Other duties may be assigned as required
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Extensive wine knowledge is required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and self-motivation
Strong desire to coach and develop others
Ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective educational programs
Excellent organization skills
Effective presentation and facilitation skills
Must have strong ethics and work as an effective, collaborative leader
Education/Training/Experience
WSET Liaison. Level 3 Award
Minimum of 5 years + experience in the wine & spirts industry preferred
Bachelor's Degree required, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain/Operations or other relevant field preferred
Computer literacy is a must and experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential
