Job description

Install workstations, configure and maintain up to 30-40 FRCS/ICS systems as required by the physical and virtual servers at the site as needed. Administer up to 30-40 FRCS/ICS operating systems including Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Information Guide (STIG), benchmark, and hardening. Load FRCS/ICS system application software and patches as required by the WS as needed.

Install servers, configure and maintain up to 10-20 servers as required by the WS as needed. Administer up to 10-20 servers including DISA STIG, benchmark, and hardening. Assist in performing backup of up to 10-20 C2 servers/databases as required by the WS.

Conduct troubleshooting and provide assistance with restoral actions for system outages and/or problems arising from patches and upgrades. Maintain an inventory of all network hardware and software. Install, configure, and troubleshoot server and workstations hardware, operating system software, and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, multifunction devices, as required.

Develop and maintain procedures for system operations and administration for continuity purposes. Test and implement operating system and/or application software, and ensures current releases of software products from approved sources are in use. Perform system backups to ensure expedient restoration of the systems and databases for the respective equipment.

Ensure backups of network equipment configuration data are current. Ensure Disaster Recovery Procedures are written and implemented, as required. Resolve LAN related problems via interaction with 355th Communications Squadron in person and/or through support tickets or, for 355 CES owned systems (including switches and routers), via direct configuration, troubleshooting, modification, in an expedited manner for critical infrastructure.

Provide customer training for new network systems. Plan for current and future technology integration and works issues for compatibility and standardization based on current and projected customer needs. Set up and maintain account restrictions and user rights.

Utilize established password controls and procedures. Maintain user access controls (physical, personnel, software, and information security) using applicable security policies and regulations. Assist IT security specialists with applicable security policies and regulations and conducts risk analyses and security tests and evaluations for each FRCS/ICS system on a quarterly basis at minimum.

Track network security patches on servers and client workstations and ensures completion. Develop reports and submit to appropriate activities as required. .
