Job description

ASCO Equipment has a career opportunity for a Service Writer in Austin/Manor, Texas. Experience with heavy equipment is preferred, however automotive industry experience may translate.ย ย  Service Writers directly engage with customers, service technicians, and other departments to coordinate/schedule preventative and other maintenance needs. They are responsible for facilitating service needs with customers and technicians.

Responsibilities:
  • Positively take ownership of customer experienceย 
  • Manage work orders: open, close, post time, enter notes and monitor progressย 
  • Prepare accurate estimates for costs of repairs and present to customerย ย 
  • Monitor and Manage accounts receivablesย 
  • Clearly and effectively communicate to customers, technicians and service managerย 
  • Provide status updates on: work orders, troubleshooting, technician progress & general questionsย 
  • Monitor phones for field technician and customer callsย 
  • Various other administrative duties

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment service technician or service writerย ย 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced/high volume dealershipย 
  • Detail oriented, time management, and teamwork skillsย 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skillsย 
  • Proficient computer skills, and experience with G-Suite & other service programsย 
  • A personal dedication to work safety and accountability
