Job description

Service Writer / Admin $2000 Signing Bonus
Position Overview
No company can promise uncompromised customer satisfaction without the people to backup and deliver that promise. At Arnold we have assembled the most comprehensive machinery support team in the western United States. There is nothing in our inventory as valuable as the associates who carry our reputation into the marketplace. With the training we provide, the Service Writer helps Arnold to keep that standing.
Essential Job Functions
  • Writing up, monitoring, reviewing and assisting of job closing.
  • Accurately determine if machine warranty applies. Advise customers of warranty status prior to performing any service. If unable to determine status due to lack of information, inform the customer that the job will be charged as revenue until information identifies it as warranty
  • Works with Service Manager to ensure that repairs are performed within the labor hours quoted or estimated to customer.
  • On jobs where written authorization is not obtained prior to dispatch of mechanic, follow up with Service Manager that the mechanic obtains a signature of the customer's representative prior to start of job.

Non-essential Job Functions
  • Compare the final invoice with the service proposal. Verify that work accomplished is to customer's expectations
  • Assist the Service Manager with the administration of the Service Department.

Other Skills/Abilities Desired
  • Candidate with an ambitious and proactive attitude, and strong work ethic
  • Detail oriented with an ability to solve problems with little direct supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Good mathematical proficiency

  • Reaches to answer phones
  • Read paperwork, files and records on the computer
  • Communicates by phone and in person
  • Bends body to file various paperwork
  • Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain

  • Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
