We are seeking a Junior Technical Publications Writer to support government customers in a fast-paced environment as part of a multifunctional design and engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to balancing program priorities and project deadlines. This position requires exceptional written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with customers and teammates.

In this role, the selected candidate will develop a broad range of technical documentation, including operator and maintenance manuals, work packages, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Modification Work Orders (MWOs), Commercial OfftheShelf (COTS) manuals, repair parts lists, and training materials. The Technical Writer will ensure that all documentation complies with applicable military standards such as MILSTD400511/2, MILSTD38784, MILPRF63002, and MILHDBK1222. This position requires close collaboration with engineers, subject matter experts, and logistics personnel supporting Department of Defense weapon systems. You will also participate in technical and logistics working groups, represent the team during internal and customer meetings, and support onsite customer validation and verification activities. This is an on-site position.

Required

  • BS or BA degree
  • 3 years technical writing experience with a focus on DoD and military applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Availability for up to 25% travel
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

  • Working knowledge of structured Extensible Markup Language (XML) authoring tools such as PTC Arbortext or equivalent
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or equivalent
