Job Description:
The Technical Writer position within the Products Team is responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining all customer-facing and internal product content that enables users to successfully adopt, navigate, and maximize our software, products, and solutions. This role combines the clarity and precision of technical writing, the structure and release alignment of product documentation, and the usability focus of content design to deliver a seamless knowledge experience.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Partner with product managers, developers, UX/UI, QA, and support teams to understand product functionality, workflows, and upcoming releases.
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including user guides, in-app help, API documentation, release notes, configuration guides, and tutorials.
  • Proficiently manage documentation with publishing software, Zoot's internal wiki, and Microsoft office products.
  • Design clear and concise in-product content (UI text, onboarding flows, and contextual help) to improve product usability and reduce friction.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, consistent with style guidelines, and aligned with brand voice and product updates.
  • Organize documentation for easy navigation and discoverability across platforms (knowledge base, help center, in-app resources).
  • Continuously gather user feedback to optimize content for clarity, adoption, and self-service success.
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Business, Computer Science or related field required Or, an equal combination of education and experience.

Ability to successfully pass background screening.
Physical Requirements:
All positions at Zoot require the ability to move about inside an office environment which includes the operation of computers and other office productivity machinery and frequently communicates with other employees, clients, vendors, and visitors. This position specifically requires long periods of sitting at a computer workstation.
Working Conditions | Work Hours | Location:
This position will take place primarily in an office setting. To optimize team performance, the workspace for this position is typically a cubicle setting in an open space environment. It is expected that exempt employees, and specifically this position, regularly and consistently report to work on-site, at Zoot headquarters, during normal business hours. Occasional nighttime and weekend work is required within the position. This position may occasionally require travel. The Technical Writer position is fast paced and ever changing, requiring flexibility, self-initiative, and regular management of changing priorities.
