Job description

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Safety and Security Supervisor oversees daily departmental operations to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The role provides leadership to security personnel by managing staffing, post coverage, shift transitions, and performance oversight. The Supervisor supports regulatory compliance through incident reporting, workplace violence prevention efforts, drills, inspections, and documentation. The position also responds to emergencies and security incidents, coordinates communication with internal teams and external agencies, and assists with investigations. Additionally, the Supervisor trains and mentors staff, manages performance concerns, and serves as the primary point of contact for safety and security issues during assigned hours.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Experience:
      • Three years of experience in any of the following is required: corrections, public safety, law enforcement, armed forces, healthcare safety and security, behavioral health.
      • One year of supervisory experience in Safety and Securtity is strongly preferred.
    • Education:
      • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Licensure & Certifications:
      • DRIVER - Driver's License
      • BLS
      • De-escalation training
      • Must become certified as a de-escalation instructor within six months of hire
      • IAHSS - Supervisor Level Training and Certification withinin six months of hire
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language clearly and effectively.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
