MARKETING SPECIALIST
Reports to: Corporate Comms and Marketing Manager
Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt
Location: Anchorage, AK
JOB SUMMARY: The Marketing Specialist supports Aleut's communications and marketing efforts by developing, coordinating, and publishing content that informs and engages shareholders, descendants, and other key audiences. This role serves as a day-to-day lead for shareholder-facing communications projects, including newsletters, campaigns, social media, collateral, and related initiatives. The Marketing Specialist helps ensure content is accurate, timely, aligned with Aleut's branding and values, and informed by performance metrics to improve engagement and effectiveness.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Champion Aleut values: accountability, transparency and rigor.
  • Develop and implement content strategies for Aleut shareholders and descendants.
  • Create, edit, and publish high-quality content for various platforms including, social media and newsletters.
  • Serves as day-to-day lead for shareholder-facing communications projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage merchandising and collateral needs for various events and Aleut Shop.
  • Build and maintain relationships with shareholder artists, supporting Aleut events, and other shareholder engagements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team to ensure content aligns with brand messaging and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on corporate and shareholder-facing communications projects.
  • Conduct research to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and timely.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly to improve engagement.
  • Manage content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of all content pieces.
  • Leads quarterly printed and digital newsletters, including scheduling, content planning, contributor coordination, and project management.
  • Serve as the primary communications lead for shareholder-facing campaigns, projects, and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for content development.
  • Support shareholder event coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or related field.
    OR
  2. Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
    ANDTwo (2) years of direct experience in communications, public relations or marketing OR in lieu of direct experience, candidate can have five (5) years' experience in an administrative support position within an office setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
