This role supports the creation of guidance materials, manuals, and publications that reflect current policies and security directives. It also assists with documentation related to SCI facilities governed by NAVAIR SSO oversight and other Cognizant Security Authorities. Duties & Responsibilities:Security Specialist – Technical Writer develop, edit, and maintain security documentation covering GENSEC, INDUSEC, INFOSEC, PERSEC, and PHYSEC disciplines to ensure compliance with current regulations and program needs.Security Specialist – Technical Writer create clear and accurate security publications including manuals, procedures, classification guides, and other official documents required by the program.Ensure documentation reflects applicable DoD, IC, and service‑specific security policies, including requirements for classified and controlled unclassified information.Assist with drafting and updating guidance related to SCI facilities under NAVAIR SSO cognizance, ensuring alignment with DIA and Navy security directives.Support command oversight documentation requirements for Navy‑accredited SCIFs, including materials used for inspections and Staff Assistance Visits conducted by the CSA.Coordinate with subject‑matter experts across all security disciplines to verify technical accuracy, completeness, and relevancy of written materials.Maintain version control, publication records, and updates to ensure all security documents remain current and properly distributed.Security Specialist – Technical Writer assist with developing templates, standardized formats, and documentation workflows to improve program‑wide consistency.Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of multiple security disciplines and associated documentation requirements, including general, industrial, information, personnel, and physical security.Ability to interpret policy guidelines and incorporate complex security requirements into clear and functional documentation.Skilled in organizing and structuring detailed security content to support manuals, guides, and official program publications.Ability to coordinate with Government and contractor personnel to gather information, validate content, and ensure documents meet program needs.Skilled in managing documentation updates, maintaining records, and ensuring written materials remain current and properly controlled. In-depth knowledge of DoD writing and staffing guidance.
