The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, Texas A&M - Fort Worth and the Texas A&M - RELLIS Campus. The Texas A&M University System mission is to provide education, conduct research, commercialize technology, offer training, and deliver services for the people of Texas and beyond.

Job Description Summary:

The Professional Grant Writer and Research Editor provides expert writing, editing, and proposal development support for faculty and research teams across TAMUS institutions, improving proposal quality, competitiveness, and funding success rates.


Responsibilities:
- Draft, edit, and refine proposal narratives for federal, foundation, and industry sponsors.

- Collaborate with faculty to articulate compelling research impact, innovation, and broader impacts.

- Review proposals for compliance with sponsor guidelines and evaluation criteria.

- Develop boilerplate content, institutional descriptions, and shared proposal resources.

- Coordinate proposal timelines and writing schedules.

- Provide writing workshops and grantsmanship training.

- Support development of white papers, concept papers, and strategic research communications.

- Maintain quality assurance processes for major proposal submissions.

- Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of grant writing, scientific editing, or research communications experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated success with funded federal proposals.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.

- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
