Job description

Job Title

The qualified candidate will support student growth through the use of research based, highly effective instructional practices which promote interactive learning and student engagement. The teacher will meet the needs of each student by building trusted and caring relationships; understanding and implementing best practices; creating and utilizing systems of intervention and support, differentiated instruction, and a variety of instructional strategies. The candidate must be adept with technology and ready to consider emergent techniques to enhance student achievement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education
  • Master's Degree in Teaching & Learning, preferred
  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certification in Elementary Education
  • Endorsements of BT, BA, BX, and/or EX LETRS Training Certification of Completion
  • Orton-Gillingham Trained, preferred
  • Successful teaching experience of at least five years
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies
  • Understanding data of targeted instruction to improve student achievement
  • Strong communication and personal skills
  • Professional commitment to high expectations

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct student assessments to identify students for intervention.
  • Provide direct instruction with students identified for interventions.
  • Utilize a variety of research based instructional strategies.
  • Assist teachers with instructional strategies and assessments.
  • Analyze and interpret data to inform practice.
  • Use data to inform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plans for intervention.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to monitor student progress.
  • Participates and informs Building MTSS Teams with individualized student data.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records.
  • Collaborate with District and building staff.
  • Provide instructional support and training with staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position reports to the Building Principal.
