  • Novice-level software development skills with, or willingness to learn, at least one programming language (Python, TypeScript, Go (golang), or C++ preferred), including: understanding of first-order syntax and vernacular (conditionals, built-ins), writing simple functions and functional-style scripts, and an understanding of what objects are
  • Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with others on both an ad hoc and project team basis, across organizational boundaries
  • Self-organizing, with a willingness to work through assigned tasks and ask for help when needed

Preferred Knowledge and Experience
  • Development ability in Python, TypeScript, Go (golang), or C++
  • Familiarity with GNU/Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with a DVCS (e.g. git)
  • Exposure to relational database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)
