Insulation Sales Estimator & Building Science Analyst – Koala Insulation of the Sound Shore

Koala Insulation of the Sound Shore is a high-quality, service-oriented insulation contractor serving homeowners and businesses throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties. We are seeking a motivated, technically minded Insulation Sales Estimator & Building Science Analyst to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a tech-savvy professional who combines strong building science expertise with excellent communication and customer service skills.  Koala Insulation of the Sound Shore will provide you with cutting-edge diagnostic equipment and on-the-job training to maximize your skill development.
The successful candidate must hold a BPI Building Analyst certification and have experience conducting in-home assessments or sales appointments for home performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive home energy assessments and insulation inspections.
  • Perform blower door and combustion safety tests to evaluate building performance.
  • Identify and document insulation deficiencies and recommend energy-efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare and present detailed proposals to homeowners, explaining findings and recommended upgrades.
  • Process rebate and incentive paperwork for state and utility-sponsored programs on behalf of customers.
  • Manage sales appointments from initial inspection through proposal presentation and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with installation teams to ensure project specifications align with recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, assessments, and project details.
  • Stay current on energy efficiency standards, insulation materials, and rebate program requirements.
Qualifications:

  • BPI Building Analyst certification required (Building Performance Institute).
  • Experience conducting blower door tests and home performance evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of building envelope systems and insulation technologies.
  • Proven track record in in-home sales, energy auditing, or related home services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple assessments per week.
