Construction Estimator / Preconstruction Coordinator

Corporate Management - Buford, Georgia


About the Role

Procon E&C is seeking a Construction Estimator / Preconstruction Coordinator to support lead tracking, estimating, bid coordination, and preconstruction activities for industrial and specialty construction projects. This role is ideal for a candidate with estimating experience who can help manage opportunities from initial lead review through bid submission.

The position will support projects in industrial and manufacturing construction, including electrical, mechanical, duct / sheet metal, cleanroom / dry room, specialty systems, envelope / architectural specialty scopes, and selected miscellaneous work as business needs require.

This role is based in Buford, Georgia and may require occasional travel for site visits, pre-bid meetings, and customer meetings.


Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction Support

  • Review incoming project opportunities and support initial bid screening
  • Perform quantity takeoff and prepare estimating worksheets for assigned opportunities
  • Solicit, collect, compare, and organize vendor and subcontractor quotations
  • Assist with scope review and identify gaps, assumptions, and risk items
  • Draft exclusions, clarifications, and scope notes for proposal review
  • Support pricing sheet preparation for internal management review
  • Coordinate bid deliverables, due dates, and submission requirements
  • Assist with preparation of bid forms, proposal packages, and supporting documents as needed
  • Maintain organized bid files and estimating records for future reference

Lead Tracking & Bid Coordination

  • Track leads and bid invitations through Dodge, BuildingConnected, email invitations, and internal bid logs
  • Maintain accurate bid pipeline status by stage
  • Follow up internally to ensure timely estimating input, quote collection, and management review
  • Monitor bid calendars, deadlines, pre-bid meetings, RFIs, and addenda
  • Ensure all required documents are complete and routed for internal approval before submission
  • Coordinate final bid submission and confirm receipt when required

Project & Market Support

  • Support preconstruction efforts for industrial / manufacturing projects primarily in Georgia, with additional opportunities in Texas and other growth markets as needed
  • Assist with customer meeting preparation, prequalification materials, and project-specific documentation
  • Help maintain consistency and professionalism in proposal and bid materials
  • Support selective pursuit of profitable non-core opportunities when aligned with company needs


Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of relevant estimating, bid coordination, or preconstruction experience in construction; 5+ years preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • Duct / Sheet Metal
    • Cleanroom / Dry Room
    • Specialty Systems
    • Envelope / Architectural Specialty
    • Miscellaneous small projects
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Ability to perform quantity takeoff and organize pricing support
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline management skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PDF/document review tools
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred

  • 5+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience in industrial or commercial construction
  • Familiarity with Dodge, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, and construction bid workflows
  • Experience supporting hard bid, negotiated bid, and design-assist pursuits
  • Ability to prepare bid forms, proposal letters, exclusions, and clarifications
  • Experience working with subcontractor/vendor quote leveling and bid comparison
  • Familiarity with industrial/manufacturing construction environments and fast-track project schedules
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
