Job description

The Visiting Nurse Association is currently seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated clinical individual who wants to make a difference in the community.

The Immunization Program Assistant provides administrative support to the VNA Immunization Program. following the VNHS program guidelines and in accordance with the recommended state policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that all necessary supplies and forms are available.
  • Handles client credit cards, and consent and information forms. Reviews the procedure for insurance screening and forms completion.
  • Assists Lead RN to determine client flow, with input from the site’s contact person so clients will proceed efficiently.
  • Scans insurance card, social security, and ID card, if applicable.
  • Checks consent form to determine that all demographic, insurance, and screening questions have been answered and are legible. Compare client insurance card information for accuracy with what is on the consent form. Assures consent is signed and dated.
  • Assists nurse(s) in cleaning up of the work area, ties trash bags, placing new liner in trash can and packs up supplies and paperwork.
  • Counts money with charge nurse.
  • Assists Lead RN with the completion of the Clinic Report Form by sorting consent forms as appropriate.
  • Assists Lead RN with placement of Clinic Report Form, cash, checks, and credit cards slips in money envelope.
  • Assists Lead RN with placement of consent forms in large clinic envelope.
  • Always maintains client confidentiality.
  • Assist Immunization Program Coordinator with process and preparation of clinic paperwork.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent computer proficiency. (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Adapts to changes in procedures and technology.
  • Effective professional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of standards effectively.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance coverage.
  • Must have your own reliable transportation.
