Job description

NVR - the parent company of Ryan Homes,NVHomes, and Heartland Homes - is searching for an Architectural Specialist - Mechanical Systems to be integral to our Architectural Project Team, which emphasizes teamwork and innovation.These teamsare responsible fordeveloping crucial construction documentation for sales, permitting, and homebuilding construction.You'llplaya central rolein our dynamic product development process, including collaborative 3D building information modeling (BIM) using AutoCAD.You'llbe involved in projects that span from design drawings and structural analysis to HVAC systems and building code compliance. You will also support homebuilding personnel with permitting and inspection challenges, ensuring seamless project execution.

Role Overview:

  • Develop detailed HVAC system designs, specifications, and load calculations in compliance with current codes.
  • Independently complete project work in at least two of the following disciplines: Design, Architecture, Fabrication, Code & Engineering, HVAC, or Estimating.
  • Maintain project schedules and accurately record hours worked.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Facilitate discussions, provide recommendations, and develop solutions with various NVR departments.
  • Consult with experts in structural and mechanical engineering, architecture, estimating, building codes, truss engineering, and IT.
  • Coordinate phases of the project with third-party consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in HVAC, engineering, or construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Wrightsoft.
  • Experience with HVAC system design and load calculations (Manual J, S, and D).
  • Preferred experience in residential or production homebuilding.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in planning and organizing activities with demonstrated follow-up and control skills.
  • Preferred experience in leading, mentoring, and coaching junior team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of materials required for residential construction.
