You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.
How you will contribute
You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

Nature and Scope
This position is responsible for the operation of 3 or more of the following machines and their subcomponents: Aqua 1-7; Bosch; Hayssen 6, Treatsize, Theatrebox 1-2, Rovema.
Major/Essential Responsibilities
Checks quality of candy and material prior to packaging operations
Perform regular quality checks of candy and material
Train
Support general packers
Checks metal detector to confirm that it is functional
Sets up and operates Aquarius related sub-machines such as the Schubert, Domino, Markem, Cermex, Nor/Reg. Senzani, Langen, Multi-pond, Nordale, and Butlers
Checks bags, weights, seal temperature, registration, date code, batch numbers, etc. and record data into Quality Suite
Record all troubleshooting and downtime occurrences in Quality Suite
Engages in machine start up tasks such a calibrating the scales, changing the program, setting up the film, complete changeover duties, etc.
Operates film lifter, feed cartons to machines
Using RCA, produces shift efficiency report
Using SAP, report all types of waste and re-work sugar, number of machine hours per order, and hours of downtime
Conducts both major line cleaning, changeover cleaning, and end of shift cleaning
Performs safety checks on all machines at start-up
Maintain cleanliness on the packaging line, specifically jaw and knife cleaning
Ensure proper supply of materials, including boxes, cartons, labels in according with the BOM
Responsible to continuously clean the area surrounding the work station
Knowledge and understanding of SOP's and work instructions
Understand, participate and support all safety programs, policies and initiatives within the manufacturing location
Responsible for ensuring all packaged products meet all GMP and food safety requirements
All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Computer literacy is essential and required with specific emphasis on SAP and Quality Suite
Numerical literacy is required
Knowledge of and ability to follow specific and key protocols, policies, etc.
Some mechanical knowledge, familiarly with terms and plant systems/machines
Troubleshooting/problem solving skills
Education
High School Diploma
Some post-secondary education is an asset
Experience / Skills
Previous experience as a General Packer is required
Good command of written and oral communication in English is required
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential

This position regularly interacts with General Packers, Process Coordinators, Packaging Coordinators, Warehouse Handlers, the Lead Operators, Maintenance, and the Shift Supervisor

Working Conditions
This position occurs in a setting of a manufacturing plant environment
Exposure to noise, some dust and variable temperatures is common
The use of personal protective equipment is required, particularly protective footwear, hearing protection, safety goggles, heat resistant gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as required
The use of company mandated uniform is required (long sleeve shirts/pants, hairnets, gloves, etc.)
Salary and Benefits:The expected annualizedsalaryrange for this position is$42,848.00 to $60,330.00CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to basesalary, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of5%with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results, and potential shift premiums and / or overtime.
