Producer, Reuters World News (Level 1 Journalist, Temp Guild)

Reuters World News is Reuters' flagship daily news program, delivering authoritative reporting and analysis to global audiences across streaming and podcast platforms. Reaching millions of viewers and listeners every day, the 10-minute show provides fast, insightful coverage of the stories shaping the world, powered by Reuters' unmatched global newsroom.

We're looking for a talented and versatile TEMPORARY Producer to lead our afternoon update - someone with strong editorial instincts, excellent production skills across video and audio, and the confidence to host on camera or on mic when required.

About the Role

As Producer, Reuters World News (Level 1 Journalist, Temp), you will:

  • Produce the daily afternoon update across streaming, video and podcast platforms

  • Monitor breaking news and help develop fast, accurate and engaging segments

  • Exercise sound news judgment to identify the stories that matter most to audiences

  • Write scripts, headlines and copy that are clear, concise and compelling

  • Edit and package video and audio content to tight deadlines while maintaining Reuters' standards of accuracy and impartiality

  • Host segments or provide on-camera and audio presentation as required

  • Collaborate with reporters, editors, producers and technical teams across Reuters' global newsroom

  • Ensure content is optimized for digital, streaming and podcast audiences

  • Contribute ideas for innovative storytelling and audience growth

  • Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity and editorial excellence

About You

You're a fit for the role of Producer, Reuters World News if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Experience producing video, audio or digital news content in a fast-paced newsroom environment

  • Demonstrated ability to make strong editorial decisions under deadline pressure

  • On-camera and/or audio hosting experience

  • Excellent news judgment and a keen interest in global news and current affairs

  • Strong writing, scripting and storytelling skills

  • Experience editing and producing video content

  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues across time zones and cultures

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

You'll stand out if you also have:

  • Experience producing content for streaming platforms, podcasts or digital-first news products

  • Experience covering breaking news and live events

  • Familiarity with audience engagement and digital storytelling best practices

  • Knowledge of international affairs, business, politics or other Reuters coverage areas
