TITLE: Multilingual Ed Tech - King Middle School
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Multilingual Ed Tech III supports newly arrived English Learner students by performing a variety of tasks that promote English language development and seamless transitions to Portland Public Schools. Duties involve working with students individually and in small groups with native language instruction, reinforcing English and grade-level instruction, orienting students to school procedures and practices, and ensuring the cultural, linguistic, and social-emotional well-being of new arrivals.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish is required
  • Fluency in French/Lingala is also preferred

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maine State Educational Technician III (023) authorization (more info)
  • Maine State CHRC authorization (more info) **
    • **if you already have an active Ed Tech certification, you do not need a separate CHRC as this clearance is tied to your Ed Tech certification
