Job Title: Student Worker - World Cup Cafe Wait Staff - Mission Waco

Work Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, World Cup Cafe is open Tuesday - Friday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Sunday 9:00am - 3:00pm

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing

Pay Rate: $11.00-12.50/hr

  • In a student employee capacity, may assist in working with external community service partners.

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY - World Cup Cafe is looking for a bright, energetic personality who would like to support the work of the cafe through customer service and other tasks such as waiting tables, serving food, bussing and maintaining cleaning duties and food safety. MUST BE ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. This is off-campus employment, so reliable transportation is important. Previous customer-service is a plus.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION - Customer service oriented, tasks including waiting tables, serving food, bussing tables, and helping to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. In addition, the staff will also learn how to run the coffee station and make a range of coffee drinks.
REQUIRED HARD SKILLS - Customer service, point of sales experience, use of computer and communication skills. Must obtain a food handlers certificate.
REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS - Work well with staff as a team player. Good communication skills, problem solving skills, a positive attitude, and desire to serve. In addition, we are seeking staff who desire to provide quality products and service to the public, have flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Preferred: previous customer service experience and bilingual Spanish
LEARNING OUTCOMES - Grow in listening, speaking, and creative problem solving skills. Grow as a team member, giving/receiving feedback, following through on assigned responsibilities.
Hourly Rate: $11-$12.50/hour (depending on new or returning student worker status and/or any recognized special skill level)
