Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior or Manager of SEC Financial Reporting to join our corporate finance team. This individual will play a key role in preparing and filing accurate and timely financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal control requirements. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, hands-on, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced public company.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, S-3, and S-8, as well as earnings releases and investor presentations.
  • Ensure financial statements and disclosures comply with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations (Reg S-K, S-X), and XBRL requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, and Investor Relations to support timely and accurate external reporting.
  • Research and document complex accounting issues and new pronouncements (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718) and draft accounting memos and whitepapers.
  • Monitor and implement changes in SEC and GAAP accounting guidance; assess impact on company reporting and ensure proper adoption.
  • Support quarterly earnings release process and related materials, including press releases and scripts.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Assist in SOX compliance activities related to financial reporting and disclosure controls.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and automation initiatives within the external reporting function.
  • Support technical accounting initiatives, including purchase accounting (ASC 805), equity transactions, debt financing, and stock-based compensation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license required.
  • 4-7+ years of relevant experience, including:
    • Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience in a public company or pre-IPO environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
  • Experience with Workiva, Wdesk, or other SEC filing tools is a plus.
  • High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
