Working in Dubai typically means being employed in the United Arab Emirates, known for its vibrant economy, tax-free salaries, and diverse workforce. Many expatriates are attracted to Dubai for its career opportunities, modern lifestyle, and high standard of living. However, it's important to understand local labor laws, work visa requirements, and cultural norms before relocating. Job description

Company Overview
Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.
Overview
Join the Air Taxi Systems team at Joby Aviation as a Senior Product Designer, where you will directly design the product software that brings quiet, emissions-free flight to the world. In this role, you will lead the product design and development of our core operational applications- including the flight operations scheduling portal, the pilot's Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), terminal logistics and ramp operations. Your work will be instrumental in supporting our ongoing helicopter operations in New York, launching our first commercial eVTOL operations in Dubai and scaling to future global markets.
At Joby, you won't just be designing screens; you will be paving the way in a startup-like environment within a well-funded aerospace pioneer. You will have access to the latest and greatest AI tooling and you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineering, and flight operations to stand up scalable apps from ideation to release.
Responsibilities
  • Design the joby flight operations tooling and pilot resource management interfaces
  • Design the pilot, terminal and ramp applications
  • Optimize the UX of our ongoing helicopter and future eVTOL operations
  • Collaborate with our flight test team to optimize their scheduling and execution needs
  • Provide design guidance for internal product development
  • Efficiently use state of the art AI tools to maximize efficiency in the product development cycle

Required
  • BA/BS in Design, HCI or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience working across multiple platforms such as Web, iOS & Android
  • Highly proficient with common design tools such as Sketch, Figma and the Adobe suite
  • Highly proficient with current AI tools, such as Claude, Chat GPT, Gemini, GLM 5.2 etc
  • Understanding of HTML & CSS
  • Basic understanding of coding and understanding of what is feasible with the design and which layouts are most scalable

Desired
  • Are a pilot or have an interest in aviation and/or new transportation technology

Additional Information

The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.
Joby is an Equal Opportunity Employer
