Position Requirements:
Teachers must love children and be willing to learn and grow in your position. You must meet the qualifications of โ€œteacherโ€ as specified by state regulations. You must have taught as a lead teacher in another daycare (home based or center) to be considered. ย 
Enrollment in the Oregon CBR and all required training must be current.
Lead Teacher responsibilities include:
  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.
  • Communicate warmly, effectively, and frequently with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Spend time observing the children's interests to create stimulating, age appropriate Emergent Curriculum.
  • Be familiar with, but continually learning about, childrenโ€™s learning development- cognitive, social /emotional, communication and physical development.
  • Guide teachers assistants in effectively helping in the classroom
  • Be familiar with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies/ Supports).
  • Maintain a general classroom schedule, while being flexible and sensitive to changes in the classroom.
  • Be knowledgeable about general principles and best practices of early childhood education.
  • Familiarity with Emergent Curriculum model a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be abe to work scheduled hours.
