Cemetery Grounds Maintenance Crew

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour, based on experience

Hauck Enterprises is hiring a Cemetery Grounds Maintenance Crew member at Chapel Hill Memory Gardens in Jacksonville, Florida. Your main job is keeping the cemetery lawns and grounds looking sharp. You will spend most of your time mowing, trimming, and caring for the park, with additional work on burial setup, headstones, and equipment when needed. If you take pride in clean, well-cut grounds and can run a zero-turn mower all day, this is steady outdoor work with full-time benefits.

What you will do

  • Mow cemetery grounds with a zero-turn mower as your primary daily responsibility
  • Trim, weed, edge, and complete other grounds and memorial upkeep so the park stays presentable
  • Handle park maintenance requests and general landscape work
  • Assist with burial and entombment setup so equipment and materials are ready
  • Install headstones and monuments according to cemetery guidelines
  • Operate a tractor
  • Operate a backhoe to prepare grave sites when assigned
  • Follow safety rules and treat families, visitors, and coworkers with respect

What you will bring (required)

  • Grounds maintenance, landscape maintenance, or similar outdoor experience
  • Proficiency operating a zero-turn lawn mower
  • Experience operating a tractor
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat and other weather
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs or more
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work as part of a crew and independently
  • Clear communication with teammates and visitors

Preferred

  • Backhoe experience
  • Cemetery or funeral-home grounds experience
  • Headstone installation or burial-setup experience
