Job description

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for supporting the Assistant Controller in the completion of accurate paperwork and reporting.

Leadership

This role has no official leadership responsibility, primarily leading by example.

Core Accountabilities

  1. On a daily basis, complete deposits, replenish petty cash, handle mail, expedite the remittance of bank contracts, file parts tickets, complete recap forms and file 8300 forms in a timely manner.
  2. Complete daily, weekly and monthly postings, and account reconciliations assigned by Assistant Controller in a timely manner.
  3. Ensure that Warranty cancellations are submitted in a timely manner.
  4. Monthly, ensure that aftersell remittances are submitted and checks processed in a timely manner.
  5. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed as designated by the Hoffman Auto Group Privacy Act Policy.
  6. Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  7. Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, reconciling, and recording accounts payable data.
  8. Verify and investigate discrepancies, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.

Competencies and Qualifications

  1. Basic bookkeeping and Excel knowledge.
  2. At least 2 years of working accounting experience
  3. Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  4. Must be flexible, highly organized, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Always leads by example with professional work ethic.
  5. Regular on-time attendance is an essential function of this position to meet deadlines.
