Job description

Contract Operations Supervisors – Aerospace

2 Positions Available | 1st & 2nd Shift | Up to $120,000

An exciting opportunity to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business supporting the production of highly engineered, precision components used by major aerospace and defense customers.


We are looking for experienced Manufacturing Supervisors / Production Supervisors / Team Leads / Area Leads who want to take ownership of production performance, lead hourly teams, and work in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.


There are currently two Contract Operations Supervisor opportunities available:

1st Shift – Fabrication / Machining

Lead a fabrication area supporting precision aerospace manufacturing. This position is ideal for someone with a strong machine shop or fabrication background who has progressed into front-line leadership.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing hourly manufacturing employees
  • Managing daily production, safety, quality and delivery performance
  • Supporting machining and fabrication operations
  • Working with CNC mills, lathes, EDM, deburring and related processes
  • Partnering with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Production Planning
  • Driving Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Managing employee performance and day-to-day workforce issues within a unionized manufacturing environment

Ideal background: Manufacturing Supervisor, Machine Shop Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, Machining Lead, Area Lead or similar.


2nd Shift – Assembly & Test

Lead a portion of a precision assembly and test operation, overseeing production execution, employee engagement, safety, quality and delivery.


You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing an hourly production team
  • Managing daily assembly and test activities
  • Ensuring safety, quality and schedule requirements are achieved
  • Troubleshooting production issues and removing roadblocks
  • Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Production Planning
  • Supporting Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Managing employee performance and day-to-day workforce issues within a unionized manufacturing environment

Experience with aerospace assembly and test, servo controls, actuators, hydro-mechanical components, fuel systems, valves, pumps or similar precision electromechanical products is highly desirable.


What We're Looking For in the Operations Supervisor

  • Previous front-line manufacturing leadership experience
  • Direct experience supervising hourly employees in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading and developing production teams
  • Background in aerospace, defense, aviation, machining, precision manufacturing or another highly regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality and production metrics
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and employee development skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality and Planning
  • Experience handling employee relations, performance management and workforce issues within a union environment


Compensation: Up to $120,000, depending on experience.
