Are you a skilled and compassionate registered nurse seeking an extraordinary career opportunity at a state‑of‑the‑art healthcare facility? TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital is currently seeking to hire a Full Time Breast Center Navigator!

Breast Center Nurse Navigator at TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital

Responsible to serve as a consistent care coordinator ensuring timely access and seamless coordination of services throughout the continuum of breast cancer care. Will provide clinical functions as required in support of the breast center services and will participate in maintaining a safe, cost‑effective patient‑care environment.Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing breast imaging services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps develop and manage the care pathway for breast service patients in conjunctions with referring/treating physician(s).
  • Manage Pathology records as directed by Breast Center protocols.
  • Collaborates in the development and monitoring of a measurement system, which ensures that services are performing within defined standards (EDGE Quality Initiatives)
  • Provides education and support to the patient and their family.
  • Identifies and develops resources to meet the educational and psychological needs of the breast center patients.
  • Works collaboratively with the breast center team (physicians, radiologists, oncologist, pathologists, etc.)
  • Demonstrates the ability to articulate the breast center services philosophy in a positive manner to health care providers and to the public.
  • Develops a presence in the professional and general public to ensure high visibility of TOPS Comprehensive Breast Center for the breast care services.
  • Serves on committees of Breast Center
  • Serves as a constant contact for patient/family throughout the process of diagnosis and treatment.
  • When necessary or needed, coordinates appointments for consultations and physicians visits.
  • Maintains two‑way communication with physician offices in order to improve the process of coordinating care for the breast center patients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree Preferred, RN
  • Nurse License by Texas Board of Nursing
  • 3-5 years of acute clinical experience in nursing specifically related to plastics, oncology or generalized breast health
  • CPR Certification
  • CBPN-C, CBCN, or OCN certification
